Screen Time

One of the biggest challenges we have seen is the amount of screen time students and staff are undertaking with remote learning. Some staff are spending up to 7 hours in the course of the day online: setting work up, communicating with students and marking work. More challenging, some students do their regular school work for nearly 6 hours and then spend additional free time on Youtube, gaming or on social media with friends. It is VITALLY important that students and staff take regular breaks from the screen – go for a walk with the dog, do some exercise or do some cleaning while dancing to some music! The program has been designed to give flexibility to start earlier in the day or work later at night so regular breaks can occur.
