Introducing our new staff – Welcome Geoff!

March 11, 2021

Hi, I’m Geoff Parker and I am loving being the new Grade 4/5 teacher this year. The welcome I have received as a new member of the Good Shepherd College community has been outstanding. I have been very heartened and gratified by the warmth and hospitality demonstrated by all of the students and have appreciated them showing me how things are done GSC style.

I have been teaching for a little over twenty years across primary and secondary schools in the Catholic, Government and Independent sectors in Victoria and the UK. In addition to being a primary classroom teacher, I have taught a range of secondary school subjects including: Psychology; English; Music; Humanities; Wellbeing; Mathematics; and Religious Education. I love learning and education and have spent the past ten years in various leadership roles in schools always refining and adding to my teaching toolbox.

My focus this year is completely on my beautiful Grade 4 and 5 students and sharing the journey of 2021 with them.

I was born and raised in Melbourne, but am now firmly rooted in the Western District and love the space and freedom this gives my two boys, who are also at GSC. As you may have read in my wife, Erin’s, introduction, I also love to travel. Whether it is overseas, interstate or around our beautiful state, I love the journey, the exploring and the discovery of new friends, cultures, ideas, places and food.

Have a great year and I look forward to all of the great experiences and new adventures this year will bring.
