Applied Learning Kitchen Garden @ Junior

August 26, 2021

Over the past couple of weeks the Applied Learning class has been busy preparing the garden beds for the Junior Campus Kitchen Garden. The beds were constructed in Woodwork and installed with the help of Mr Jurecky. From the lessons learnt at the Royal Mail Kitchen Garden, students moved the beds around until they were in a position where they’d receive optimal sunlight for the growth of our seedlings.

Before the current lock down we visited our local Bunnings to purchase the necessary equipment in preparation for Monday’s soil delivery, from Grampians Garden Supplies. When we got to the check out at Bunnings, we were thrilled to learn that through their community support program, they were kindly donating all items in our trolley. This was completely unexpected and words cannot describe our gratitude.

We now look forward to getting our hands dirty and creating a wonderful learning environment for our students.
