Who will claim this year’s Swimming Carnival? Kannenberg? Napier? Or Pierrepoint?
Our Year 5-10 students have had 2 visits to the outdoor pool recently to prepare for our upcoming Swimming Carnival (Next Wednesday 16th February). A huge thank you to Mrs Maxine Baring (Senior Campus) and Mrs Sarah Lynch (Junior Campus), who coached the students through a wide range of skills, giving great advice.
Our Annual Swimming Carnival (Years 5-12) will be held at the Hamilton Outdoor Pool next Wednesday 16th February. Event nominations were completed early this week and I am super excited about this day. Please ensure students bring named swimmers, towel, goggles, hat and any other appropriate swimming gear. They will also need to bring lunch and extra snacks, along with a good sized water bottle, clearly labelled. Students may wear house colours and are asked to bring their biggest cheering voice. The weather is looking perfect for a swim (28 degrees), so please remember to be sun safe as well.
Thank you to those parents who have already put their hands up to assist us on these carnival days:
· Junior Campus: Wednesday 2nd March (at the Junior Campus)
· Senior Campus: Friday 4th March (at Mitchell Park)
We are training and working on our athletics skills in readiness for what should be a wonderful celebration of our sporting gifts and talents.
There is currently a youth girls team (under 18) in Hamilton and the league is also looking at starting an under 14 competition. If you are interested in playing football, “Come and Try” nights will be on Tuesday 15th and Thursday 24th February, 6:00 – 7:30 at Melville Oval.
