GSC Racing

June 23, 2022

GSC Racing had another great performance this past weekend. The teams left the school for Murray Bridge on Saturday where they stayed the night before driving on to Adelaide bright and early on Sunday morning for the race. On Sunday, the Human Powered Vehicle teams competed in Round 3 of the Australian Human Powered Vehicle Super Series at Victoria Park, Adelaide.

We achieved amazing results with the Senior team coming 17th in their category (23rd out of 101 overall) and the Junior team coming 48th in their category (90th overall). A massive well done to Alex Tonissen with the fastest lap for the junior team with 2:10, Drew Rentsch for racing for the first time, and Wynn Rentsch covering the 1,175m in just 1:34 not once, but twice! The teams then had wood-fired pizzas for dinner in Coonalpyn on Sunday night before returning to Hamilton on Monday.

If you are in Grade 5 or above, love cycling, and are interested in joining HPV, please contact Ms Samantha Broadbent at sbroadbent@gsc.vic.edu.au or come along to a training session on Wednesday afternoons at the Hamilton Velodrome.
