HPV Season Review

October 6, 2022

The GSC Racing teams have completed the Australian Human Powered Vehicle Super Series’ final race for the 2022 season and did outstandingly. This was the 24-hour race in Murray Bridge, held in the middle weekend of the school holidays.

The Senior Team finished with smashing results in both the whole race and in the high school category, finishing 20th of the 51 high school teams (49th of 136 overall). Impressive results from a team of dedicated people. The Junior Team had several new recruits and kept the trike moving for nearly 20 hours of the race. Smashing effort from the young ones. Wynn Rentsch had the fastest lap time with 2m8s (for 1.7km). Alex Tonissen had the fastest lap time for our Junior Team with 2m53s.

Both teams would like to thank their support crew: Ms Broadbent, Tania and Simon Rentsch, Colin Linke, Matt Ackland, Paul Murrihy, Andrew Tonissen, Daniel and Suzanne Connolly, Nick and Emily Anderson, Jason Win, Chelsea Miller, Jason and Sonya Cay, Victoria Easton and Sonia Tonissen helping with rider coordination, meals, and pit crew.

Another AHPVSS season finished and another fantastic effort from the brilliant group of riders. Another massive thank you to all the riders, parents, helpers, and staff who put in the massive amounts of effort that makes GSC Racing a fantastic and fun team to be a part of. If you are in Year 4 or above and like cycling, consider joining us for the 2023 season. Contact Ms Broadbent  to register your interest. –
