GSC Racing – Now Recruiting!
GSC and Tarrington families, the Good Shepherd College Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) Team are collecting expressions of interest for joining the 2023 teams and holding two come-and-try sessions for prospective riders! HPV is a unique relay cycling sport and the GSC Racing teams have a supportive yet competitive culture.
Anyone in Years 5-12 at GSC or Tarrington interested in learning more about HPV are encouraged to come along to the Hamilton Velodrome at HILAC between 3:45-5pm on Thursday 9th of Feb and/or Thursday the 16th of February!
During the come and try sessions, you will be fitted for the HPV trike, learn how to ride in the trike, and learn how the HPV team works and how our training sessions run. We have a lot of fun! Parents are encouraged to talk with our team managers to see how they can also be involved with marshalling, trike maintenance, or administrative roles.
Our racers and families are so excited to welcome some new members and show everyone how awesome it is to be a part of the GSC Racing team!
GSC Racing compete in the Australian HPV Super Series with four weekend events in South Australia between April and September. Our regular weekly afternoon training sessions for all team members will commence on Thursday 16th February at the velodrome from 3:45-5:15pm (that’s not a typo, we’ve changed the training afternoons to Thursdays for 2023).
Both 2022 team members and new members need a copy of the HPV Introduction Letter to be completed by a parent/carer to confirm your interest in joining HPV for the 2023 season. Copies of the letter are available at the GSC and Tarrington front offices or by contacting team manager Ms Samantha Broadbent at firstname.lastname@example.org
