Head of Senior News

February 9, 2023

Before commencing this article, I took a brief walk around the College. What I saw was a hive of activity. It’s hard to believe that it is only Week 2! Pastoral Care activities centred around relationship building were evident. Students were mapping using Google Earth in Humanities and I saw balloon rockets in Science.

Students welcomed me in every room that I entered. It was so pleasing to see the support and teamwork from students.

Across the whole College, students were inquiring, investigating, comparing, contrasting, analysing and sharing their findings. It was a privilege to witness such active classes, where students were often leading the learning.

The Resilience Project

As part of our Pastoral Care Curriculum this year, students will be undertaking The Resilience Project (TRP). This program centres primarily around GratitudeEmpathy and Mindfulness. More information about the curriculum can be found in the attached information sheet. In addition to this, I will add fortnightly Resilience Project snapshots for you to keep abreast of what we are doing here at the College.

It was a pleasure meeting many of you at the Parent Information Evening on Tuesday night. Thank you for introducing yourselves and enlightening me about school history, culture and your individual children. The weather is looking a lot better than last Friday for the Welcome Family Barbeque. I’m hoping to see you all there.

Have a wonderful week ahead.

(Head of Senior Campus)
