Our Identity & Affiliation

Good Shepherd College is a vibrant educational community established to advance Christian education in accordance with the Lutheran Confessions. Operating in Victoria, the College is separately incorporated as a company limited by guarantee, with Lutheran Education VIC, NSW, Tas and ACT Ltd (LEVNT) serving as its sole member.

As a proud affiliate of LEVNT Ltd, our relationship is formalised through a dedicated Affiliation Agreement. Under this partnership, LEVNT Ltd provides the College with vital funding, services, and support. In turn, Good Shepherd College commits to four core operational areas:

  • Cultivating our Lutheran faith commitment

  • Ensuring the responsible use of Government and school funds

  • Maintaining exemplary governance and management practices

  • Actively utilising LEVNT services and support

Commitment to Australian Democratic Principles

In accordance with the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, Good Shepherd College supports, endorses, and actively promotes the principles and practices of Australian democracy. We are committed to fostering an environment that respects:

College Board & Governance

The Good Shepherd College Board is responsible for the overarching operations of the College, as detailed by the powers and functions in the College Constitution. To ensure smooth daily operations, the Board delegates management responsibilities to the Principal and dedicated sub-committees, who report directly back to the Board.

General Functions of the Board

  • Strategic Direction: Setting the long-term strategic direction and strategic plan for the College.

  • Policy Approval: Approving specific policies, positions, and strategic initiatives that maintain and improve the school’s overall performance profile.

  • Leadership Advisory: Advising the Principal and Senior Leadership Team on matters brought before the Board to ensure optimal outcomes.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitoring Board policies and strategic directions to ensure the school works in complete harmony with governance intentions.
