Our House System

At Good Shepherd College, our House System is central to building team spirit, community connection, and healthy competition. Unlike traditional house names, our three houses—Kannenberg, Napier, and Pierrepoint—connect our students directly to the physical heritage, natural landmarks, and foundational history of our College.

• Kannenberg House: 🟨 Yellow
• Napier House: 🟦 Blue
• Pierrepoint House: 🟩 Green

Students belong to their house throughout their journey at Good Shepherd, competing annually for prized shields in swimming, athletics, and various school-wide events.

Kannenberg House

• The Story: Named in honour of Miss Annie Kannenberg.

• The History: Miss Kannenberg was the visionary landowner who generously donated her farm property at 297 Mt Napier Road to the Lutheran Church in 1977. Her incredible gift laid the literal foundation for our permanent 100-acre Senior Campus, which officially opened its doors in 1983. Kannenberg House stands as a lasting reminder of generosity, community foresight, and faith in future generations.

Napier House

• The Story: Named after Mount Napier, the prominent volcanic peak that shapes the horizon of Victoria’s Western District.

• The Connection: The name also celebrates our physical place in the region, mirroring Mt Napier Road—the historic thoroughfare where our picturesque Senior campus sits today. Napier House embodies the strength, endurance, and deep-rooted community connection of our local landscape.

Pierrepoint House

• The Story: Named after Mount Pierrepoint, a beautiful 279-metre mountain peak situated near Tarrington, just southeast of Hamilton.

• The Connection: Alongside Napier, Pierrepoint celebrates the unique volcanic topography and rich agricultural geography that defines our region. It inspires students to look outward at the broader community and scale new heights in their academic, sporting, and personal endeavors.
