Sheep AI Program

The school woolshed was busy on the morning of the 17^th January, with fifteen of the stud Poll Dorset ewes artificially inseminated (AI’ed) to rams from Mallee Park Poll Dorsets. Thankyou to keen Ag Club student, Hannah Lewis, for helping us out on the day; Farm Manager, Trent Morris for all his work preparing the ewes for AI; Brian Sharrock from Hamilton Genetics for AI’ing; and Tim and Marianne Ferguson from Mallee Park Poll Dorsets for donating semen to the school. Mid June will be a very exciting time for Ag students, when the AI lambs are due. Lets hope we get lots of impressive lambs for GSC Ag Club students to exhibit at Sheepvention in August.
