HPV Report

May 20, 2022

We had a wonderful start to the Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) season with a 6-hour race at Tailem Bend. On the 14th of May, the HPV teams, made up of students from both Good Shepherd College and Tarrington Lutheran school, raced at The Bend Motorsport Park.

The Senior Team placed 12th out of 36 in their category and 50th overall, and the Junior Team came 35th in their category. All of the Junior Team riders are from primary schools, racing in a category that allows up to Year 8, so we are very proud of their effort and results.

Lots of cheers and encouragement came from both parents and students of both teams, as well as some internal competition as the Senior Team raced each other’s lap times. Fastest lap times from the two teams on the 3.41km track were from Buick Marrs (4m 24s) and Alex Tonissen (6m 40s). Our next race is a 6-hour race at Victoria Park, Adelaide, on Sunday 19th June. Both teams are training hard as they look forward to racing again.
