Swimming

Our Annual Swimming Carnival (Year levels 5-12) will be held at the Hamilton Outdoor Pool on Wednesday 15th February. Please mark this in your diaries as everyone is welcome to attend, help out and cheer. As a lead-up to this big event, we have the pool booked tomorrow (Friday 10th Feb) for some practice sessions. This is where Year 5-10 students can work on the events they nominated for earlier this week. Please ensure those involved bring swimmers, towel, goggles and any other appropriate swimming gear on these days.

Athletics

Athletics skills are being covered over the coming weeks in PE lessons. We will be running, jumping and throwing our way towards our carnivals. These will be held on the following dates: Junior Campus: Wednesday 8th March at the Junior Campus. (Note: Calendar change… original date was 10th March) Senior Campus: Friday 17th March at Mitchell Park.

We Need You – We are very much after parents willing to assist with our Swimming and Athletics Carnivals. They say “many hands make light work,” and we have all sorts of jobs such as timekeeping, supervision, recording results and refreshments. Please contact me (Julian Gollasch) via email if you can help out  jgollasch@gsc.vic.edu.au

Thank you in advance. We very much appreciate your willingness to assist.

GT Storm Basketball – All HBA (Hamilton Basketball Association) games started this week. Please make contact with your team coach or team manager if you are unavailable to play. In a few weeks we plan to send out a form to all parents to gauge interest for the next season (Terms 2 and 3). Keep an eye out for emails and newsletter announcements.

Note: If you have any information regarding GSC students who perform well in the sporting area throughout the year, please contact me with the relevant information so I can include it in a “Sports Shorts” edition. Thank you.
